The holiday home Tetenbüllspieker is situated at the edge of one of Eiderstedt's most beautiful villages: the Wasserkoog in the municipality Tetenbüll. The house is tucked away on and old summer dyke, surrounded by meadows, water and a large orchard with a small pond.
The house is decorated with modern designer furniture: Vitra, Cassina, Moormann, Cappelini, Fermob, etc., and a few baroque pieces of rustic furniture. The modern Bulthaup kitchen offers all the amenities you can think of - from the dishwasher, induction stove and Nespresso coffee machine to the 'Gaggenau' oven.
All timbers are painted with natural colours, the walls are plastered with clay. The stone floors on the ground floor and the bathroom on the top floor have underfloor heating; the attic has wide, white soaped wooden floorboards.
The holiday home was extensively restored under the watchful eye of the state office for the preservation of monuments and its former splendour shines like new since April 2015. The thatched two-storey holiday residence with terrace and a large gallery is detached from the rest of the building.

Eiderstedt is ideal for family holidays, cyclists, kite surfers, dog owners, hobby cooks and culture enthusiasts, and the fields and Wadden Sea make it a paradise for bird watchers. Organic farms and farm shops, strawberry fields and nice weekly markets offers special shopping opportunities and fresh regional products.
Absolute tranquillity on the North Sea in a stunning stand-alone location! The Tetenbüllspieker is situated 500 metres from the Wadden Sea and a swimming spot with sunbathing lawn; the seaports Husum and Tönning are a 15-minute drive away and offer everything needed for a perfect holiday; the seaside health resort St. Peter-Ording boasts one of Germany's most beautiful and longest beaches and can be reached within 20 minutes; the famous Westerheversand Lighthouse is 10 minutes away. It is also an ideal base for taking cycling tours - or simply relaxing in our old orchard.

From Hamburg, the distance is roughly 130 km to the north-west; from Denmark almost one hour to the south. By car: From the Elbe Tunnel, take the A23, exit Heide, continue on the B5 to your destination Tetenbüllspieker, the drive takes about 1 hour, 15 minutes. Alternatively, you can take the train to Friedrichstadt or Husum. The house is situated about 500 metres from the North Sea's mudflat side - and there's a great swimming spot you really should try at high tide!

We have been spending time in the northern part of Germany for over 20 years now - especially in the winter. Being friends with a well-known architect from the Danish border who lovingly restored many gorgeous thatched houses true to their original construction type, made us want to be able to own such a listed thatched house, too, at some point in the future. We've spent five years looking at houses and three years restoring the one we chose - now, the Tetenbüllspieker is completed and ready for guests.
