Holiday Home Ananda is a modern, earthquake-proof house built in traditional style, completed by the architect in 2000 and renovated in 2015. The main entrance on the upper floor leads through the hallway with a cloakroom into the large living and dining room with a table made of old teak, comfortably seating 8 people.
On the south side, a large glass door opens onto a covered terrace, entwined with bougainvillea, overlooking the sea and Porto Maurizio. A balcony on the west side offers views of the Maritime Alps and our local mountain, Monte Faudo (1150m). The kitchen is very well-equipped (we love to cook). From the hallway, there is access to the second, smaller bathroom with a shower and toilet.
The lower floor is reached via a spiral staircase (or a wide external staircase); there are two cool bedrooms with a covered terrace in front, a luxurious bathroom with shower, tub, and a door to the olive grove, as well as a separate toilet.
The dreamy location, 1600 sqm of olive terraces and a garden that is a botanical gem. The warm pool, in which you can also swim under a roof, a white marble fountain, palm trees, a small pond with lotus and even croaking frogs. Doors and windows are fitted with fly screens, each bed has an additional mosquito net.
Plenty of parking space, including under sun protection, behind a locked gate. The narrowest point of the driveway is 2.50m.

Cycle along the disused railway track by the sea to San Remo, bathe in ice-cold mountain water pools, travel through the mountains to Piedmont to buy wine, and feast in quaint restaurants in the hinterland.
Spacious neighborhood with villas, many of which are permanently occupied. There are many smaller beaches in Porto Maurizio, including ones with fine sand, which are however chargeable during the season.
Approximately 6 km away is the annually refurbished free beach of Porto Maurizio (sand and pebble) with showers, free parking, and numerous bars and restaurants nearby. Imperia is also a lively city outside of the season.
San Remo (about 25 km) and Monte Carlo/Monaco (about 50 km) are easily accessible. In the original hinterland, you can go hiking and indulge in local cuisine (around €30 all-inclusive), alpine ski lifts are reachable by car (60 km) and directly by train. The access to the house is paved (150 m to the provincial road), but partly steep. Shopping can be done on the way to the city.
For your travel planning, here are the distances to the house: from Munich 820 km (Brenner) or 735 km (San Bernardino); from Bregenz approximately 550 km (San Bernardino); from Chiasso about 300 km; from Basel about 590 km. You drive past Milan towards Genova, turn off before Ventimiglia, and then it's about 90 km on the coastal motorway to Imperia, exit Ovest, which is the fastest, or Est, which takes you through the city. You will receive a detailed access description in advance.
