Neben der Natur bietet Egmond aan Zee auch viele andere Freizeitaktivitäten. Es gibt ein Tennisplatz, eine Minigolfbahn und ein Museum. Einen 18-Loch Golfplatz gibt es im nicht weit entfernten Alkmaar.
In dieser können sie im Frühjahr beispielsweise wunderschöne farbige Tulpenfelder genießen.

Egmond aan Zee is the best known of the three Egmond villages and is located directly at the sea. It originates from 877 AD.
The lighthouse, named afterAdmiral Jan van Speyk, dates from 1834 and stands in the middle of the village, watching over its inhabitants.
Since many centuries Egmond aan Zee is a fishing village. In the center of the village you can admire the well renovated fishershouses.
In the past many city-children came over here to get better and stayed in one of the "koloniehuizen", a sort of sanatorium houses, that were located on the outskirts of the village on the border of the dunes.
Every year many tourists choose Egmond aan Zee for their holidays. Amongst other things they choose it for the beautiful sandy beaches where you can take a walk, sunbath or take a swim in in the sea, all the while enjoying the healthy sea-air.
Egmond has a lot to offer as well in the summer- as in the wintertime.
At the beach there are sea-pavillions where you can enjoy a lovely meal, a good drink and at the end of the day you can watch the sun setting in the sea.
The sea offers good sailing and surfing opportunities, you can also hitch a ride on a motorboat along our beaches.
At a regular interval fishing competitions are being organized here.
At the beach you can also rent a beach-chair and windscreens.
Egmond aan Zee is surrounded by a dunes district where-in many pedestrian- and bikepaths.
The district runs from Den Helder in the North upto Wijk aan Zee in the South, next to the canal.
There is also the possibility throughout the year to rent a bike so you can enjoy the seceneries while riding a bike.
Springtime offers you the most superb multi-coloured tulipfields. It's a treat!
Other entertainments in Egmond aan Zee are: tenniscourts, a subtropical swimmingpool, miniature golf, a Museum, a local supermarket and, last but not least, the many fish shops where you can taste the finest, freshes catch of the sea.
Our mainstreet offers you quality shopping, with many exquisite knick-knacks.
In short, we like to say that Egmond aan Zee has a lot to offer.
Outside of our village is the city of Alkmaar, located at 9 kilometres to the East. Every Friday you can find the world-known Cheese Market here at the Kaasmarkt, in the center of the city.
You can take a boat tour on the canals and admite the beautiful facades and centuries old courts.
Shopping is good in Alkmaar. The shopping streets are always lively and cosy. Also the nightlife is excellent in Alkmaar. And, for the golfers amongst us, you can find a 18 holes golflinks here.
To the South: the city of IJmuiden with a fishharbour.
Not far away are the old Dutch mills in the Schermer.
Schagen, to the North, offers a weekly folkloristic market.
Bergen, a village closeby, is an Artists colony, it's always very lively here. You can find nice terraces and of course many Art Galleries and quality shopping as well.
