Description
Nestled in the gentle hills of Castellina, our Fattoria opens up refreshing views of the Mediterranean maquis to the south and east.
To the west, it offers a unique view of the sea and the offshore islands...
Special features
Our holiday home is an antique Fattoria, originally built at the end of the 18th century and served the surrounding farms as an oil mill and wine cellar until 50 years ago. Guests can still visit...
If you're more interested in art, then you're at the right place with us. Our Fattoria is very centrally located, and almost all the famous cities (Pisa, Lucca, Volterra, San Gimignano) can be reached by car in less than an hour. Only Siena and Florence are a bit further away.
Wine lovers will also find their delight. Castellina is very close to the wine road towards Montescudaio - Suverto and Bolgheri. And of course, it's worth tasting the delicate wines of Fattoria Terriccio (Comune di Castellina Marittima)!
For those who are sports enthusiasts, we offer beautiful bike tours through the Tuscan hills with breathtaking views of the sea and the picturesque villages of the surrounding area.
If you prefer hiking, you'll find cozy trails in the hills just above the village, which offer a first glimpse into the Mediterranean flora and fauna.
If you are more spiritually inclined, then visit the Buddhist monastery in Pomaia (also reachable on foot), a center for yoga and meditation.
Holiday destination
Castellina has plenty to offer culturally and gastronomically in the summer as well:
At the beginning of August, Castellina hosts 'Cucina povera'. Over two days, you can sample culinary delights in the village streets and taste the best wines of the region.
MusicaW, on the other hand, is the musical event of the year. For 5 days, live music to suit all tastes is offered for free on the Piazza and in the park of Castellina!
Getting there
By plane to Florence or Pisa and then by rental car towards Livorno/Cecina on the highway or expressway until the Rosignano exit, and from there continue towards Le Badie (SR 205 - Kilometer 9). Then 3 kilometers towards Castellina.
By car from Milan via the A1 to Parma, then the A15 to the A12 exit and then continue towards Livorno/Cecina.
