The surroundings of Kampe House have a lot to offer. Here is a brief overview:
Right next door, there is a large skiing and hiking area in the rolling Alp landscape with 140 km of slopes (the skiing jewel of Alpachtal/Wildschönau). Also perfect for ski-tourers and snowshoe hikers.
The Alpachtal/Wildschönau skiing area has won many awards in "value for money", "family friendliness" and "condition of prepared slope". There is no mass tourism in our area - it is family-friendly and calm. It's also a hidden secret for mountain bikers. There are a lot of cultural events in the summer. Childcare and events in the Dragon Club are very popular in the summer months. There is an open-air pool in Oberau and there is also a water park with a sauna area and action slide in Wörgl. Whoever enjoys climbing can get their adrenaline pumping on the high rope course in Oberau and in the Wörgl climbing hall. Anyone who loves spectacular nature will get their money's worth in the many gorges in the area (Kundler Gorge within walking distance, Tiefenbach Gorge, Wolfs Gorge, Kaiser Gorge,...). Interesting towns offer shopping experiences in Wörgl, Kufstein, Innsbruck, Kitzbühel,.... The mountain landscape in the Haflingerhof, right in the neighbourhood (500m from the house), can be enjoyed on horseback. Your physical well-being is also taken care of, there are many places to indulge or just get a bite to eat as well as rustic alpine huts in the Wildschönau, the largest cheese alm in the Tyrolean lowland, "Schönangeralm", is only a few kilometres away with a beautiful mountain landscape and excellent summit and alpine tours (for example to the Große Beil, 2310m). There are various mountain railways nearby (Schatzberg, Marchbachjoch, Alpbachtal, Wilder Kaiser/Brixental, Rofan, ...) which can get you higher up quickly, for brilliant panoramic experiences. Carriage rides are highly recommended if you want to go slower. Always popular with tourists in the valley - the mountain farmers and wood museum as well as the herb garden. The small adventure mine in Thierbach (one of the most pristine villages in the Alps) and a walk around the Thierbacher Kogel are also popular.
There are wonderfully refreshing bathing lakes about 45 minutes away by car (Reintaler See, Berglsteiner See, Krummsee, Hechtsee,.....).
Medieval enthusiasts will enjoy the medieval fortresses, for example in Kufstein, Rattenberg.
In addition, you can embark on a range of excursions, such as the Krimmler waterfalls, the Großglockner high alpine road, the Innsbruck alpine zoo, the Swarowski crystal worlds, the Oberaudorf and Walchsee summer slides, the rare animal zoo in Ebbs, the city of Munich, a day trip to Italy....
The incredible nature, with its varied alp landscape with just under 50 managed hill farms, is really stunning. The surrounding area is still home to rare animal and plant species, e.g. wood grouse and black grouse, golden eagles,
marmots, deer, hoopoes, three-toed woodpeckers, chamois, common ravens, dippers, various orchids, rust-red alpine roses, ...
