The listed Junkerhaus with its garden is located directly at the foot of the Aremberg castle ruins and thus adjacent to the nature reserve. Aremberg itself is centrally located between Blankenheim and Gerolstein. The German-Belgian Nature Park and the Eifel National Park are just as close as the Freilinger See for swimming.

For example, it has a whitewashed 'Cologne ceiling' from the 16th century and a mansard roof with hand-hewn Moselle slate. It is the main building of a closed courtyard complex with a massive natural stone enclosure. Everyone who passes by here on the Eifelverein hiking trail marvels at this unique property.
