Dobbertin is an idyllic, small village with many listed half-timbered and brick houses and a monastery. Surrounded by forests, many lakes and streams as well as moorland and heath, it lies in the middle of the Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heide nature park.

Activities nearby : Swimming, fishing, water sports - the Dobbertiner See offers numerous possibilities for relaxing and active holidays. We recommend a trip with the passenger ship MS Condor on Lake Dobbertin, because if you are lucky, you can observe sea eagles, kingfishers and otters as well as cormorants fishing. You should also pay a visit to Dobbertin Monastery, as this listed site is a popular meeting place for day trippers and art lovers. It was founded a long time ago in 1220 by the Benedictines. From May to September, guided tours of the monastery grounds take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 3 pm. Adjacent to the monastery is a park with some dendrological treasures, through which a nature trail leads. In the monastery café with a view of the lake, visitors can enjoy coffee, cake, ice cream or a snack. In the workshops, visitors can get an idea of the work of the residents.
