The Geierkoglehütte is located at the foot of the Saualm, from where you can go on ski tours and snowshoe hikes. The nearby Klippitztörl ski resort is perfect for both beginners and advanced skiers. Slopes ranging from easy to difficult make skiing fun for everyone.
In summer, you can go hiking in the Zirbitzkogel and Saualm area right from the hut without using a car. The routes are well marked and manageable for everyone. Cozy, rustic, managed alpine huts invite you to stop by for refreshment and relaxation.
Should the weather take a break, head to Klagenfurt, Graz, or Vienna for shopping. For the active ones, a summer toboggan run, climbing garden, high ropes course, quad bike track, etc., are available nearby.

es war ein Urlaub nach Maß !
Tolle Hütte , super gemütlich und perfekt ausgestattet.
Sebst die Sonnenterasse konnten wir bei strahlendem Sonnenschein ( und das Ende Oktober) und herrlichem Ausblick ins Tal nutzen !
für Verpflegung muß man eine längere Strecke fahren aber das läßt sich einrichten.
Wer es gerne einsam mag und sich mitten in der Natur wohlfühlt ist hier genau richtig !
