The listed town house was first mentioned in 1860. In the years 2019 to 2022 it was completely renovated, redivided and lovingly furnished in consultation with the monument protection. The facade and the old beams in the house were preserved, the old masonry was uncovered again, new casement windows and doors were installed and the original terrazo floor was made to shine again.

Worthwhile excursion destinations in the vicinity are St. Peter Ording with its huge beach and all kinds of water sports, dune thermal baths and horseback riding (40 km). Furthermore, the port cities of Husum (16 km), Tönning (16 km) and Büsum (48 km). By train you come directly to Westerland Sylt (99 km). The ferries go from Nordtstrand to the North Frisian Islands.
Your accommodation is very centrally located in Friedrichstadt, only approx. 100 meters from the market square.
Friedrichstadt offers numerous cafés, restaurants, small shops, studios, galleries, a bathing beach, a weekly market as well as regular flea markets and city tours. Other highlights are the Friedrichstadt festival, lantern festival, dragon boat races, culture night, autumn magic and canal Christmas.
SUP, canoe and e-boat trips on the small canals are very popular.
It doesn't need a car. If you want, you can travel by train (train station approx. 500m). St. Peter Ording, Husum, Tönning and Büsum as well as the North Frisian Islands can be reached quickly in the surroundings.
By car:
From Hamburg, take the A23 in the direction of Heide/Husum. The autobahn ends in Heide and automatically turns into the B5. Follow the main road past Tönning and then turn right onto the B202 in the direction of Friedrichstadt.
From Flensburg, take the B200 to Husum, which automatically turns into the B5 in the direction of Heide. From the B5, turn left onto the B202 in the direction of Friedrichstadt.
By train:
From Hamburg main station or Hamburg-Altona with the regional express towards Husum/Westerland Friedrichstadt stop
From Flensburg, take the regional express in the direction of Hamburg main station, stop Friedrichstadt

With its stepped gable architecture and the enchanted canals, it is unique in Germany not far from the North Sea.
