The “Maria Luise” holiday apartment in the “Villa Augusta” is located on the garden floor of a charming villa from 1890. The building was used as a hotel until 2021. The hotel director lived in what is now the “Maria Luise” apartment.
With its four bedrooms, the apartment is very suitable for:
- large families
- multi-generational groups
- holidays with friends
The apartment is partially accessible: there are no thresholds inside, and one of the two showers is at floor level. A staircase with 15 steps leads to the entrance door.
The beds in three of the four bedrooms come from the Kiel box spring manufacturer “Sleep&Dream”, which supplies, among others, the “Atlantic” hotel in Hamburg as well as the “Waldorf Astoria” and the “Adlon” hotel in Berlin.
Sophisticated and modern: the furnishings in the “Maria Luise” apartment are based on the designs of an interior design duo.
The centrepiece is the salon with bay window, corner sofa, large television, fireplace, open kitchen, cooking island, and dining area with a view of the park-like garden.
The kitchen from the Danish manufacturer “Kvik” offers plenty of storage space and is equipped with top appliances: large “Bosch” refrigerator with large freezer compartment, slide-and-hide oven from “Neff”, and induction hob with integrated extractor hood from “Bosch”.
The boudoir is the largest bedroom in the apartment. There is a box spring double bed and an en suite bathroom with natural light as well as a shower and bathtub. From your favourite spot in the cream-coloured bouclé armchair, you can enjoy the beautiful view of the Burgberg.
The master bedroom is the second largest bedroom. The leaded glass window opens into a light shaft – ideal for late risers. It is also equipped with a box spring double bed. The walls are decorated with carpentry art - interpreted in a modern way in the colour concept of our interior designers.
The garden room with two single beds offers a beautiful view of the natural garden of “Villa Augusta”. This room is also the connecting room to the utility room and the fourth bedroom.
The “Höhle” (cave) can be accessed as a prison room via the garden room and the utility room. The sandblasted natural stone wall and the vaulted ceiling give it an extraordinary, rustic atmosphere. There is a 1.40 meter bed with an “Emma” mattress. The large window opens into the light shaft.
The apartment has a surrounding, covered loggia and its own 150 m² garden-like terrace. This faces south-east and, depending on the time of year, has sun until around 7:00 p.m. There is space for eight people at the outdoor table. In the hammock or on one of the four loungers, you can relax with a view of the Bad Harzburg mountain panorama.
2 parking spaces. A parking space directly at the house and a space in a lockable single garage on the parallel street about 70 meters away. Bicycles can also be parked here.
You have your own entrance and a large terrace for your own use.
There is an open kitchen with an island.
Relax by the fireplace in the living room.
There are two bathrooms available.
Sleep like a log in beds from the Kiel manufacturer “Sleep&Dream” and “Emma”
Watch your favourite series on the 75-inch television.
Create atmosphere with the “Philips Hue” lighting system (operated via a tablet)
Listen to your home station on the Internet radio and Bluetooth box from “Teufel”.

Bad Harzburg features a combination of beautiful nature, good dining, a classic ambience, and modern attractions. The medical care in the city is exceptionally good.
Bad Harzburg has always been a popular travel destination for hiking enthusiasts and those seeking relaxation. In recent years, it has added new attractions such as the treetop path and the tree suspension railway, which also delight families with children. The salt-water thermal bath with an outdoor pool, which is only a few hundred meters away from the “Maria Luise” apartment, was reopened in 2021 after extensive modernisation.
In the surrounding area of Bad Harzburg, there are many other attractions such as the summer toboggan run in Bad Hahnenklee and the historic old towns of Wernigerode and Quedlinburg. Thanks to the well-developed Harz local transport network, these are easily accessible even without your own car.
Highlights in the event calendar are the Chestnut Blossom Festival in spring, the Gallop Week in July, the Salt and Light Festival in August, the Chestnut Festival in September, and the Harzburg Winter Meeting. All dates at: www.bad-harzburg.de
Best location: Amsbergstraße is one of the most beautiful streets in Bad Harzburg. It is lined by stately villas. In the “Villa Augusta” area, it is a one-way street. The Burgbergbahn and all of the hiking trails and attractions of Bad Harzburg are within easy walking distance from here - as are the spa park, the salt-water thermal baths, the popular strolling avenue, the bakery and supermarket, and the golf course. For guests with dogs, there are numerous walking paths starting right outside the front door. Joggers can choose the 4.9 km route around the neighbouring golf course.
Bad Harzburg is also easy to reach by train. From the train station, it takes just under 10 minutes by taxi.
