The approximately 60 m² apartment is located on the first floor of a 2-story historic building complex in the small district of San Maurizio, about 400 m from the lake and public swimming facilities. To reach the apartment, you go through an old stone arch into a kind of courtyard, and from there you take the stairs up to the first floor.
The beautiful view from the two balconies and the bedroom of the palms, the old roofs of the lower houses towards the lake gives the viewer the feeling of diving into earlier times. All in all, the best conditions to let go of everyday life and simply switch off! Directly from the house, you can explore the impressive surroundings on numerous walking and hiking trails. The many viewpoints always surprise with changing views of the exceptionally beautiful landscape and the lake. Cycling enthusiasts, on the other hand, can explore the area in their own way, and the bikes can be parked at the stairway to the apartment. The lakeshore of Ghiffa with pizzeria, bar, and pharmacy is about 1 km away. If you want to go for a stroll, the town of Intra with its idyllic old town, which you can reach by car in just under 10 minutes, is recommended. From here, you can also start many interesting excursions with both the car and passenger ferries. If you still long for the rest of the world, free Wi-Fi internet access is available for navigating the internet. An extensive network of beautiful walking and hiking trails crisscross the area, and a rich array of cultural, leisure, and sports activities ensures there's never a dull moment. Nearby are the renowned towns of Intra and Pallanza: Intra is known for its market and the stunningly beautiful old town. From Intra, you can also take the car ferry across the lake to Laveno. Pallanza, of Roman origin, offers a beautiful, long lakeside promenade with inviting restaurants, cafes, and shops. The Botanical Gardens of Villa Taranto, spread over a 20-hectare area, contain over 20,000 very rare plant species from all continents. Additionally, from Ghiffa, you can take the boat service to various excursion destinations. Internationally renowned holiday resorts and areas such as Ascona, Locarno, Stresa, the Borromean Islands, and Lake Orta are only up to about 30 minutes away. A true gem of Ghiffa is the "Sacro Monte della SS. Trinità di Ghiffa," one of the new Sacred Mountains in Piedmont and Lombardy, consisting of a not entirely completed pilgrimage church and three chapel-sized chapels from the 17th century, which depict scenes from the Old and New Testaments.
