Lienz is the charming capital of East Tyrol (12,100 inhabitants). For its size, it has a lot to offer and the location is a dream in both summer and winter.
Mölltal Glacier: Fantastic slopes at 3,120m
Relax away from the urban centers and enjoy the enchanting panorama and the clear mountain air.
The approach to our alpine hut is via the B106 (Mölltal-Drautal federal road). In Witschdorf (Rangersdorf locality), you leave the federal road and turn right if coming from Spittal, or left if coming from Lienz. From there, a 12km long, well-maintained, paved mountain road leads to our alpine hut. Just before the road ends at Marterle (a few hundred meters past the parking lot), a path branches off to the right, leading to our alpine hut. This last section is not paved, but still easily accessible.
