Camiers is a French commune located in the Pas-de-Calais department in the Hauts-de-France region. Its inhabitants are called the Camiérois.
It is made up of the town of Camiers, inland, and the seaside resort of Sainte-Cécile-Plage and, to a lesser extent, the beach of Saint-Gabriel, further south.
Sainte-Cécile beach is known for float riding. sailing and the national and international competitions which take place there.
À leaving Camiers towards Widehem (via the D148E5), there is a vast panorama towards the west. In addition to the view of the English Channel and the Bay of Canche, on a clear day, you can see, among other things, the north of Le Touquet-Paris-Plage with its lighthouse. The changing light and these landscapes attracted, between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, numerous painters such as the artistic colony of Étaples.
