Other recreational opportunities
It’s only a day’s drive Olympia, Sparta, Mystras, Epidaurus, and Corinth. These are all places that speak for themselves – you simply have to see them. The excavation site Messene can be reached relatively quickly. It is located near Messini a place and has a very special atmosphere.!
Holiday destination
The property is located 800 m below the village of Megali Mantinnea, where there are three nice taverns. The Mediterranean can be reached on foot in 30 minutes downhill through olive groves. There are also several wonderful taverns with parasols on the beach as well as a few small shops. There is a sandy beach, hidden corals for snorkellers, and a beach with round pebbles. Kalamata has it all: the airport and, a little further on, the impressive Messene archaeological site.
Getting there
From around March, Kalamata will mostly be served by the Greek airline AEGEAN from Düsseldorf and Munich. Condor flies from Frankfurt and Düsseldorf to Kalamata. Otherwise, a flight to Athens is also an inexpensive alternative. From there with a rental car, it is just under 3 hours via the motorway to Kalamata. You can also take your own car to Ancona, Italy, and take the ferry over to Patras. From there, it is about 3 h to Kalamta. You can also take the land route the entire way => Budapest to Skobje to Thessaloniki You can also come to us on the way

Wir hatten den besten Urlaub unseres Lebens bei der Familie Hoops. Alles passte perfekt: die lieben Gastgeber, die große Wohnung, die traumhaft schöne Aussicht von der Terrasse auf das Meer und die Landschaft, und eine sehr stille Umgebung! Wir würden auf jeden Fall allen empfehlen, bei Ute und Arne Urlaub zu verbringen!

Das Haus liegt am Berghang, ca 15 Minuten (mit dem Auto) von Kalamata entfernt inmitten von Olivenhainen. Von dort aus hat man eine wunderschöne Aussicht auf das Meer und die Berge. Wir lieben die Ruhe und die Natur und haben daher die Zeit dort sehr genossen! Im Dorf gibt es ein paar Restaurants (zu Fuß erreichbar) und unten am Strand gibt es einen gut ausgestatteten Mini-Markt wie auch mehrere Restaurants und Cafés. Die Wohnung ist sehr gut ausgestattet, die Betten sind bequem und die Außendusche unter dem freien Himmel mit Blick auf den Olivenhain ist ein Erlebnis für sich - wir haben sie bevorzugt! (Natürlich gibt es eine Dusche auch in der Wohnung) Den Pool haben wir besonders zum Morgenschwimmen benutzt. In Kalamata und Umgebung gibt es so vieles zu sehen und zu erleben... Wir kommen gerne wieder!
