The fish-rich Lake Saimaa is the 5th largest lake in Europe and starts 30 m from the front door. It offers a wide range of leisure activities in both summer and winter. Located in the forest, which is rich in mushrooms and berries. High moors, granite rocks, and a nature trail in the immediate vicinity. Quiet, far from roads, noise, and exhaust fumes.
Close to Savonlinna with its internationally renowned opera festival and the largest medieval castle in the Nordics.
Getting there
From Germany:
- With your own car by ferry: With Finnlines from Travemuende to Helsinki. This route is especially popular with travellers with pets. From Helsinki it is about 365 km to us.
- For those who like to drive: Via Baltika via Poland/Lithuania/Estonia to Tallinn and then by ferry to Helsinki. -
- Via Scandinavia: by car via Denmark to Sweden or by ferry from Rostock to Trelleborg. Then by car to Stockholm. From there, by ferry to Helsinki or to Kappelskar and by ferry to Turku.
By plane: Finnair and Lufthansa fly direct to Helsinki. Take a rental car from Helsinki.

Das Haus ist ein absoluter Traum. Es ist super ausgestattet und lässt keine Wünsche offen. Selbst Terrasse, Grillhütte und Bootssteeg sind perfekt mit Sitzgelegenheiten ausgestattet. Die Saunen - eine im Haus, eine direkt am See - sind perfekt zum Entspannen. Die Aussicht vom Haus aus ist unbeschreiblich. Der gigantische See kommt einen vor, wie Urlaub am Meer. Wir haben sogar die seltene Saimaa-Robbe gesehen. Der Kamin im Wohnzimmer sorgt für ein wunderschönes Ausklingen am Abend. Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Menschen - vielen Dank Uta und Ilpo für diese wunderschönen Tage. Ein Urlaub an diesem Fleckchen Erde sorgt zu 100 % für Erholung. Wir kommen ganz bestimmt wieder und können dieses Haus nur empfehlen.

Wir waren leider nur für 5 Tage da, aber es waren wundervolle 5 Tage. Diese Stille, der zugefrorene See, diese Hütte mit dem knisternden Kaminfeuer einfach herrlich. Wir hatten auch den Hot Tube, was wirklich toll war, draußen in der Eiseskälte im heißem Pool zu sitzen, aber Badeschlappen sind wärmstens zu empfehlen (bei minusgraden zumindest ;o).
Es war sicherlich nicht das letzte mal.
