Holiday destination
In the middle of the UNESCO World Heritage Site at an altitude of 2000m, you can expect car-free mountain air, 300 days of sunshine a year, guaranteed snow from December to April, 100km of pistes, countless hiking and biking routes and the largest glacier in the Alps, the Aletsch Glacier. All infrastructure such as doctor, pharmacy, bank, grocery stores, restaurants etc. are available in the village.
Getting there
Arrival is easy: the Betten valley station in the Rhone Valley has a railway station, bus, ticket office and parking spaces. The large cabin to Bettmeralp goes up about every 20 minutes to a natural paradise that has been part of the first UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Swiss Alps since 2001. From the Bettmeralp cable car station in 5 minutes on foot to the chalet am Sonnenhang .
