Things to do:
There is an animal park in Rheinböllen, highly recommended! Rheinböllen also has a so-called "adventure pool" whose sauna is no longer quite fresh. The new slide is quite fun.
If you want to have the most beautiful view of the Middle Rhine Valley and a table for a picnic, call me. Unfortunately, I can only explain it in a roundabout way.
The longest suspension rope bridge in Europe is only half an hour away.
You just have to google beautiful hiking trails. There are many nearby, such as the "Traumschleife Baybachklamm".
In Bacharach, time has stood still. Take a trip like in grandma's time and travel from there on the Köln Düsseldorfer to Sankt Goar.
Culinary insider tips:
On the overland route to Rheinböllen, there is an egg vending machine. Very tasty eggs, ten for three euros.
The very best bread is in Simmern, at the organic shop "Sieben Sinne". The best bread rolls are across the street at "Dhein".
If you don't want to go that far (15 minutes), I recommend the rolls from Wasgau Bäcker and the bread from the bakery at Netto in Rheinböllen.
On Thursday mornings there is a weekly market in Simmern. The "Hühnermann" is especially recommended. The chicken is unbelievably tasty, and the turkey roll roast is especially recommended! There is also delicious fish and an organic vegetable stall. There is also a stall with good bread.
If you can go out to eat again, I recommend the "Hunsrücker Hexenhaus". It's worth the trip from a culinary and visual point of view! Also worth a visit is the "Historische Weinstube" in Ober Wesel.
Host informationI look forward to welcoming you to the Haus am See and would appreciate knowing in advance who and how old the guests are. Thank you very much in advance.
