Within the park itself, there are various small playgrounds and tennis courts. On foot, you can also reach the famous amusement park "de Goudvis", as well as some shops and restaurants. In the summer, various flea markets also take place in Sint Maartenszee. St. Maartenszee is situated between the nature reserve 'Zwanenwater' and the beautiful deciduous forest 'Wildrijk'. Dunes, beach, forest, and tulip fields, extensive walking paths, bicycle routes - St. Maartenszee and its surroundings offer a bit of everything. In the neighboring town of Callantsoog, there is a large supermarket, restaurants, cozy terraces, and various shops. In the nearby, typically North Holland town of Schagen, there is the Westfriesen Market, excellent restaurants, and many shops. Bergen and Schoorl offer beautiful art markets in the summer, and the port city of Den Helder is known for its Naval Museum. The city of Alkmaar is definitely worth a visit, and from Schagen, you can be in the center of Amsterdam in about 1 hour by train.
