Holiday destination
The charming Rustico is located in the heart of Tuscany between Siena, Grosseto, Follonica and San Gimignano.
In the next town of Sasso d'Ombrone, which can be reached on foot, you will find a small grocery store, a bar and the post office. A very good restaurant is 6 km from the house.
More services can be found in Paganico (5 minutes by car).
The beautiful natural beach of Marina di Alberese (40 minutes by car) with the finest sand is located in the middle of the “Parco Regionale della Maremma” nature reserve. What makes this beach so special are the miles of sparsely visited sandy beaches and the washed-up driftwood, which can be used to build wonderful huts and shade.
Another stop to explore the province is Grosseto (30 minutes by car), with its historic old town surrounded by a 16th-century hexagonal wall and dominated by the imposing Medici Fortress.
We also highly recommend a visit to the “Tarot Garden” of Niki de Saint Phalle with its fascinating giant figures, some of which can be walked on, in the middle of the wonderful natural landscape.
For guests interested in sports, there are many options such as tennis, golf, mountain biking, fishing, etc.
Of course, there are also walks in the nature reserve and day trips to the surrounding cultural cities.
