Saint Lô offers a 9 hole Golf Course and an Aquatic Center with an in- and outdoor pool, museums. Also the city together with the tourist office organise various interesting leisure time activities, especially for kids.
The Marais - a bird's paradise - can be reached only in a few minutes. Visitors from far away travel there to see the wild life. You can take part in a boat trip, where the guide will point out birds in their natural habitat, you'd never find on your own !
From Carentan you can take a boat trip through the "wildlife sanctuary". The guide is fantastic so that you will also find hidden places you will never explore on your own.
Holiday destination
The Vimonderie is ideally placed for all the sights of historical interest : the famous Mont Saint Michel, Bayeux with its Cathedral or the superb Tapissery.
"Haras", the French National Stud is about 10 minutes away with many Showjumping events, Normandy Horse Show.
The D-Day-Landing Beaches - the 70th ANNIVERSARY this year ! 25-40 mins. away; many castles, concerts, exhibitions. Last not least sports and watersports activities, because La Manche is a peninsula, only half an hour's drive and you arrive at a lovely and clean beach whether East, North or West !
Experience an unforgettable mudflat hiking tour at Mont Saint Michel as well as the micro climate around Juloville, a trip to the Island Tatihou, or to Jersey & Guernsey.
Getting there
Coming from Cherbourg or CAEN
At Carentan take the N174 to Saint LO. Procede along past Saint Jean-de-Day for another 2 miles, then take exit Pont Hébert. At the LARGE roundabout take the 2. exit to Pont Hebert, cross the bridge over the motorway, at the next rounabout take the 2. exit to Cavigny, the third house on the right is the Vimonderie.
Coming from the South : take the motorway from Saint LO to Cherbourg.The 2.exit is Pont Hébert. At the roundabout again the 2.exit to Cavigny, the 3.house is La Vimonderie

Wir hatten 12 schöne Tage in der Vimonderie. Sigrid hat alles dafür getan, dass es uns gut gefallen hat. Viele Tipps zu Ausflugszielen, Leckereien im Kühlschrank bei Ankunft und immer ein offenes Ohr. Die Umgebung ist zauberhaft: sehr ruhig, ein großer Garten, die Strände und Ausflugsziele in gut 30-40 Autominuten zu

Es war vom ersten Tag einfach traumhaft und schön. Man wurde direkt gut aufgenommen und fühlte sich sofort angekommen und wohl. Frau Hamilton ist eine sehr liebe und herzliche Person. Man spürt, dass Ihr Ihre Gäste am Herzen liegen. Es wurde sich um alle Belange gekümmert. Vor Ort hat man alles, was man braucht und es wird einem alles zur Verfügung gestellt. Auch ein super Internet/W-lan ist vorhanden. Das wunderschöne Haus und das Grundstück mit dem nutzbar angelegten großen Garten incl. Kräuter- und Gemüsegarten und sind zum Entspannen, oder zum Spielen gleichermaßen einladend, gepflegt und großzügig angelegt. Die Beschreibung von La Vimonderie passt genau, es gibt genügend Rückzugsmöglichkeiten und Platz für alle Gäste. Es war einfach großartig. Sehr zu empfehlen, wir kommen wieder. Herzlichen Dank.
